Who Should Apply 

The Pre-College Healthcare Academy welcomes motivated high school students who are curious about medicine, healthcare careers and the science behind patient care. 

Students are eligible to apply if they: 

• Will be entering grades 10–12 or a graduating senior. Grade year is based on the student’s status at the start of the school year in Fall 2026. 
• Are at least 15 years old by the first day of the program 
• Reside in the United States. Students must reside in the United States in order to attend the program and will be asked to provide a U.S. address as part of their application.

Applying to the Pre-College Healthcare Academy is simple and can be completed in just a few steps. You may save your progress and return to the application at any time before submitting. 

Application Steps

Applications are reviewed once all materials have been submitted, so we encourage students to apply early as spaces fill quickly. 

Priority Admissions Deadline – April 30 

All applications are reviewed holistically by our admissions committee. We look for students who demonstrate curiosity about medicine and science and a genuine interest in exploring future careers in the healthcare industry. 

The inaugural 2026 cohort is limited to 100 seats, so we encourage students to apply early.  

Tuition

• 2-week Residential Tuition: $7,695

Tuition includes: 

• Academic instruction including interactive workshops, applied learning experiences and guided exploration of healthcare roles led by Mayo Clinic professionals
• Two weeks (13 nights) of secure university accommodation and 24/7 pastoral care from our experienced staff 
• Comfortable dorm-style housing in the center of Rochester, MN within close walking distance to classrooms and program facilities at Mayo Clinic.  
• All meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner 
• A curated Student and Residential Life program featuring a range of social and cultural activities 
• A certificate of completion to add to your personal resume and college application 

Flexible monthly payment plans are available for all families. 

Program fees do not include health insurance. Students must have their own health insurance coverage. 

Scholarships 

We believe that financial circumstances should not prevent talented students from exploring a future in healthcare. Scholarships are available based on demonstrated financial need.

• Complete the scholarship application 

Scholarships are limited and awarded on a rolling basis, so eligible students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.  

Refer a Friend

Know someone who would love this program? If you refer a friend who enrolls, both students receive a $250 tuition discount. 

To receive the discount: 

• Both students must contact the Admissions Team before submitting an application 
• The discount will be applied after enrollment to the student’s payment plan 

Students who have already enrolled may still refer a friend and receive a $250 refund, provided the referred student has not yet submitted an application.
